Masks and Face Coverings
Are employees required to wear masks or face coverings at work?
No. Masks are optional.
Quarantine and Isolation
What happens if an employee is exposed to COVID at school/work?

If you have been exposed to COVID-19 and you are not experiencing any symptoms, you may continue to come to work as long as you wear a well-fitted mask for 10 days and self-monitor for symptoms.
If you are unable to wear a mask, you will be required to quarantine at home for 10 days.
What happens if an employee tests positive (including at-home tests) for COVID-19?
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to notify the HRS department of the positive test.
You are required to:
- Stay at home for 5 days from the day you were tested, even if you do not have symptoms or feel sick. You may return on the 6th day if symptoms are resolving, and you have been fever- free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.
- Wear a well-fitted mask at school for an additional 5 days
- Isolation is required for all people who test positive for COVID-19 regardless of whether they are vaccinated or unvaccinated. You will be required to isolate for a minimum of 5 days regardless of symptom status.
What happens if an employee is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19?
Contact email@example.com to notify the HRS department.
Your options, whether you are vaccinated or not, will be to isolate for 5 days or get tested for COVID-19. If your test comes back negative and you are no longer experiencing symptoms, you can return to work. If you are still experiencing symptoms, you should stay home until 24 hours after your symptoms have passed.
COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Clinics
Will Salt Lake City School District be providing COVID –19 testing and vaccination clinics?
Salt Lake City School District will continue to collaborate with the Utah Department of Health and the Salt Lake County Health Department to provide COVID-19 testing centers and COVID-19 vaccination clinics.
